What to expect
You will see unique masterpieces of folk wooden architecture, included in the list of monuments of the world cultural heritage of UNESCO. The ensemble of Kizhi skerries is a complex architectural monument. The core of the Kizhi Pogost system, and the elements surrounding it like a necklace (hence the common name "Kizhi necklace") are religious buildings and landscape forms. Among the architectural monuments in the central exposition, you will see peasant houses and various farm buildings, chapels, as well as the Church of the Resurrection of Lazarus - the oldest surviving wooden church in Russia.
