    What to expect

    An active acclimatization program is waiting for you, starting from the 1st day of the tour. In the first 4 days, we will visit the main natural attractions of the Elbrus region. Starting from the 5th day on the cable car we will ascend to a height of 3848 meters, where the stage of alpine acclimatization will begin, which ends with an ascent to the highest point of Europe and Russia, the Western Summit of Elbrus, 5642 meters high.

    MEETING OF THE GROUP IN MINERAL WATERS — HIKING TO THE TERSKOL GORGE Day 1

    Meeting of the group in Mineralnye Vody, transfer to the Baksan gorge to the village of Terskol, height 2100 meters. We check into a hotel or camping. Here begins the pre-acclimatization stage, which will take 4 days. After lunch, walk to the Terskol waterfall. Climb 600 meters, duration 2-3 hours up, 1 hour 30 minutes down.

    TRACKING TO TERSKOL PEAK THROUGH THE WATERFALL OF THE GIRL KOSA AND THE OBSERVATORY Day 2

    The hike will take almost the entire day. Two hours after leaving, we will come to the waterfall Maiden Braids 2700 meters. Continuing the ascent along the dirt road, we will ascend to the Terskol observatory, at an altitude of 3100 meters. An excellent observation point to Elbrus, Cheget, Donguz-Orun. Here a long rest, lunch and descent to the hotel.

    CLIMBING CHEGET 3461 METERS — ACCLIMATION Day 3

    Acclimatization ascent, the ascent takes place first along a trail in a pine forest, then along a dirt road among alpine meadows and along a rocky ridge path. On the way, we will make stops for rest, at the cable car station there is a cafe with excellent pies and tea made from sea buckthorn and barberry. We go down the dirt road. The height of Cheget is 3461 meters, the climb is 1400 meters. The duration of the ascent is 5-6 hours, the descent is 3 hours.

    ASCENT ITKOL-BASHI 3531 METER — ACCLIMATION Day 4

    The summit is located above the village of Terskol, it offers excellent views of both Elbrus and the Main Caucasian Ridge. We ascend along a path in the forest, then along a grassy slope and along a talus ridge. Technically, the ascent is more difficult than climbing Cheget, it serves as a good preparation for the subsequent ascent of Elbrus. The height of the Itkol peak is 3531 meters, the climb is ~ 1500 meters. The duration of the ascent is 5-6 hours, the descent is 2-3 hours.

    CLIMBING ELBRUS, HEIGHT 3900 METERS — ACCOMMODATION IN THE SHELTER Day 5

    From the Azau glade on a new cable car we will rise to the Gara-bashi station, height 3850m. We check into a shelter, the best and most comfortable on Elbrus, next to a cell tower MTS (mobile Internet), electricity around the clock, heaters in 4-bed rooms, separate kitchens-dining rooms. We go out onto the glacier and learn to walk in crampons, climb to the beginning of the rock ridge, the location of the former Eleven Shelter. Physical activity is minimal, the way up takes about 1 hour, down 30 minutes.

    ACCLIMATION EXIT TO THE HEIGHT OF 5000 METERS Day 6

    The main acclimatization hike. The ascent to the Pastukhov Rocks is 4700 meters, a minimum task, it is desirable to climb to the «abandoned snowcat» height of 4950 meters. We go light, in our backpack there is only hot tea, energy supply and a warm jacket. This day will show how ready we are for the ascent. The duration of the ascent is 5-6 hours, the descent takes ~ 2 hours.

    HOLIDAY DAY — PREPARATION FOR ASCENT Day 7

    Rest day before storming the summit. In the morning, a walk combined with snow and ice activities. We will work out how to use an ice ax, a rope, how to walk in bundles. We collect backpacks and equipment for climbing. We go to bed early. CLIMBING THE TOP ELBRUS WESTERN 5642 meters! Day 8

    Exit to the summit at midnight. It's time to do what we have been preparing for all these days! Dawn at an altitude of 5000 meters is unforgettable. The ascent will take about 10 hours. After the ascent, descent to the shelter and hotel.

    It is possible to drop a group or part of a group on a snowcat or snowmobile (not included in the price).

    RESERVE DAY, POSSIBILITY OF A SECOND ATTEMPT OF ASCENT Day 9

    If the weather is good and the ascent has already been done, you can organize an excursion to the Chegem waterfalls, thermal springs or horseback riding (excursions are paid separately). You can just relax, walk through the local souvenir markets, visit the Narzan Glade or the Terskol waterfall.

    TRANSFER FROM TERSKOL TO MINERAL WATER Day 10

    The tour ends, the participants are awarded with corporate certificates of the completed ascent. Tired, but full of impressions and happy, we go to Mineralnye Vody. Transfer in the morning.
